Our District 7-0
Convention is next week on October 20 at St.
Bernardís Auditorium. Lion Pat needs our help with
members attending the convention. We need members to
help set up the facilities at 8:00 AM with the
meeting starting at 9:00 AM. International Director
Leland Kolkmeyer will be the luncheon speaker
bringing the message from Int. President Amarasuriya,
"Challenge to Change". In order to have the
appropriate amount of food catered, we need a head
count of everyone planning to attend the convention.
Please advise Lion Pat next Tuesday. J & N Barbeque
will cater the meal and entertainment will be by the
Buckhorns, a "blue grass" band. There will be a
hospitality room at Quality Suites Motel off
Phillips Drive on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. All
Lions and guests are invited.
After all our flags
getting a good soaking last Monday, it was suggested
we change our rule to not put out the flags, if
there is a 40% chance of rain.
We have three
projects coming up in November and December. Our
Pecan Sale and White Cane in November and the Lions
TV Auction in December. We need to start collecting
items now for the TV Auction which will be December
8 with Suddenlink providing the facilities again.
The next Car Show

Church of the Nazarene at 7:00 PM. Car Show sponsors
are urgently needed. Lion Ken Helman is chairman for
