Lion Larry Hinck
(#28) was the winner of the Tail Twisterís pot on
the first drawing.
This was our
monthly business meeting. Attendance was 17 members
and no guests.
Lion Brad Baker
read the minutes of the October 11 Board of
Directors meeting and Lion Treasurer Tommy White
gave the financial report. As of September 30, our
bank balance was $6,622.45, with $1,952.45 in the
Activity Fund, and $4,670.00 in the Operating Fund.
Hartwig gave a progress report on the Peace Poster
Contest which will commence in November for children
ages 11 - 13 years old.
Lion PDG Pat
Snodgrass reported on the progress of the Leo Club
being formed at the Valley View High School. He
stated there was good attendance at the first
meeting with 87 students.
The flag committee
reports there are only 136 flags in the barn which
is 17 short of our total flag routes. If you know of
any flags missing, please return them to the flag
barn. Also, advise Lions Pat and Ed Larson of any
brackets that need attention.
This is the week
end of our District 7 - 0 Convention which starts at
9:00 AM at St. Bernardís Auditorium. Come out and
support our District Governor Norine Westerbeck. The
guest speaker for the noon luncheon will be
International Director Leland Kollmeyer from
Missouri. There will also be a hospitality room at
Quality Suites Motel off Phillips Drive on Friday
from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Lion Brad can use some help
setting up for the hospitality room.
