The Tail Twister’s pot was won by Lion Jim Mashburn (#2) on the first drawing.  Our attendance was 25 members and  1 guest.  Mr. Curt Hodges with the Jonesboro Sun was a guest of Lion President Ron Erwin.  He left the meeting with an application in hand.
It was so good to have our Secretary Lion Ken Stallings back in our den.
We have good news to report for our Car Show.  The Jonesboro City Council Advertising Promotion Committee has made a contribution to our 2008 Car Show in the amount of $7,000.00.  Now is the time we should be contacting businesses for sponsorships for our car show.      
PRIDE sponsorships are available for $1,000,  CONTRIBUTING 
Sponsorships are available for $500.
Our Lions Club Auction is only six weeks away and much work needs to be done in collecting the auction items.  Take the auction items to Lion Albert Frankenberger’s office.  The auction date is December 8, at Suddenlink’s studios on Caraway Road.
We will be receiving our pecans to sell shortly.  It has been suggested that we might find 10 businesses where we can place our pecans on sale by consignment.  Consider this when you are placing orders for pecans.
Our next Flag day will be November 12 for Veteran’s Day.  We still have 2 routes open.
Our speaker this week was our President Lion Ron Ervin.  Lion Ron had a video presentation on the missionary trip  sponsored by Central Baptist Church to Malawi, Africa.  The four participants helped establish  4 churches and 2,800 natives made decisions to follow Christ.
He also visited the Lions Sight First II Hospital in Malawi where more than 6,000 people have received eye surgeries.
Next week our meeting will be at 6:00 P. M. at Western Sizzlin.  Invite a guest or prospective member and lets have a good turn  out for our speaker will  be  ASU Women’s Basketball Coach Brian Boyer.  Get your plate and go through the food bar.  The club will pick up the tab.
The speaker for our November 13 meeting will be Mr. Bob Andrews, Director of 911 Services.
This Saturday, November 3 is the date of the Trumann Lions Club annual barbeque.  This will be the 31st barbeque for the Trumann Lions Club.  They will serve from noon until 7. P. M., at Cedar Park Elementary School in Trumann.
